Instruction Manual

Instructions pamphlet or booklet is found in almost every product we buy these days. Manufacturers provide, in this booklet, information about the company, the product, the best way and the safe way to use the product as well as its limitations. We tend to read this booklet before using the product for many reasons, such as using it correctly and safely without causing harm to the product, to our selves, and also to make full usage of the product. We tend to adhere to the manufacturer instructions and restrictions knowing and believing that the manufacturer knows everything to know about the product.
I bought a product a few months ago and like most people I read the booklet. Along with the instructions there were many restrictions for using this product. I understood, as many would, that I have the choice to either ignore the instructions and restrictions, which could result in doing myself harm and losing the product, or stick with the manufacturer instructions and restrictions, very simple and straight to the point, don’t you agree? But for some reason, this whole issue of sticking to the instructions and restrictions, was occupying my mind, there was something missing. It came to me while I was reading the Holy Book. I believe, as hopefully many, that GOD created the universe and every thing seen and unseen. I believe that GOD is the author of the Holy Book. GOD provided us humans with this book to instruct us on the best way to deal with others, our surrounding, and ourselves. Unfortunately, while we have the tendency to follow the product instructions religiously, we tend to forget about our own manufacturer instruction claming it is outdated restrictions and does not apply to our generation, or it is an old wives tale. Not only we ignored our holy book and its instructions, but also we start changing them to our own likes. For example, it is called adultery only when we are married and have intercourse with other than our spouse. Which means single people intercourse is called a relationship not adultery. Or best yet, it is only stealing if we get caught. Some might say this is only a joke, I say it is a reality look around you. These are only two examples of our daily life explanations.
The result of ignoring our instructional manual, the holy book, is that we became an affluent society, looking for all kinds of pleasures, which caused us many physical, physiological, and social diseases. The end results that we are neither satisfied nor happy in our life. Who knew that doing any thing we like any time we want cannot make us happy? GOD, our manufacturer did, he created our body and installs certain physiological treats, which I would like to think of it as the soul or at least part of it, in which if one is being misused, the other will suffer. Then he provides us with instructions for the best way to use the body and the soul and gave us the choice to use it in accordance to his manual or our animalistic instincts and drives.
Unlike the toaster or the hair dryer, for example, if we misuse them a few times we might lose them, we humans, however, can redeem our selves by repenting and going back to our manufacturer instruction, the holy book, to achieve happiness and satisfaction in our life. I hope that I gave you something to think about and it will find a place in your hart.
